Taking Inventory

Taking Inventory

I`ve started taking inventory of the books that I currently own and still have to purchase. The fun part of taking inventory is getting sidetracked into creating an organizational scheme for my bookshelves. On the other hand the struggle is taking more time to organize my bookshelf than to organize the rest of my house. I don't doubt that most readers and book collectors have encountered this same "struggle"/ escape from reality when obsessing over books. But, I digress. This post is about taking inventory and I will have time to discuss how I am learning to find a balance between my books and every other aspect of my life once I (if ever) have that set into an artform.

To keep track of my progress and current inventory I`ve compiled a few lists:

List 1: Books that I own

List 1A: Books that I own, have read, and enjoyed therefore will be keeping

List 1B: Books that I own but will be selling or using to trade for other books

List 1C: Books that I own but are still on my TBR

List 2: Books that I have read but do not own

List 3: My TBR from books that I do not own

Even though I am not done taking inventory I can now start tracking my progress on a chart.
